What this bill does
In plain words · AI-written from the official summaryMilitary helicopter training safety improvements studied
This bill asks the Department of Defense to look into whether it's practical to install two types of safety equipment in military helicopters. The first is a traffic alert and collision avoidance system, which warns pilots when other aircraft are nearby. The second is a broadcast capability that gives pilots real-time information about weather and the positions of other aircraft.
How it affects you
Military helicopter pilots and trainees would be the ones most directly affected if these safety systems are eventually installed. The bill itself just requires the Defense Department to study whether these systems are feasible and practical to add, so there's no immediate change for the public right now.

Military Helicopter Training Safety Act of 2025
This bill requires the Department of Defense (DOD) to report on the feasibility of installing a traffic alert and collision avoidance system in each military rotary-wing aircraft. Additionally, DOD must also report on the feasibility of installing automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast IN (ADS-B IN) capability in each military rotary-wing aircraft. (ADS-B IN generally provides operators of properly equipped aircraft with weather and traffic position information.)
