What this bill does
In plain words · AI-written from the official summaryAdds nurse registries to VA care program
Right now, the Veterans Community Care Program at the Department of Veterans Affairs pays for certain health care services for veterans. This bill would expand that program to include nurse registries as eligible providers. A nurse registry is a business that hires and manages nurses, nursing assistants, home health aides, and similar caregivers to provide services to patients.
How it affects you
Veterans who use the Community Care Program could potentially access home care services through nurse registries in addition to other providers. This might give veterans more options for getting nursing care, physical assistance, and other support services at home rather than at VA facilities.
