What this bill does
In plain words · AI-written from the official summaryTransfers California land to Pit River Tribe
This bill puts about 604 acres of land in California into federal trust for the Pit River Tribe. Most of the land is currently managed by the Forest Service as federal land, and some is already owned by the tribe. Once in trust, these lands become part of the tribe's reservation. The bill also makes clear that gaming (like casinos) is not allowed on this land.
How it affects you
This mainly affects the Pit River Tribe, who will gain control of these lands as part of their reservation. For most other people, this is a land transfer that doesn't directly change daily life, though it does affect how these California acres are managed and governed going forward.
