What this bill does
In plain words · AI-written from the official summaryHelps small businesses understand artificial intelligence
This bill directs NIST, a federal agency that sets technology standards, to develop or find resources that help small businesses understand and address concerns about using artificial intelligence. These resources would be practical and based on widely accepted international standards. NIST would work with the Small Business Administration to share these resources, and keep them current by reviewing and updating them every two years.
How it affects you
Small business owners and their employees would benefit from having clearer guidance on how to use AI tools responsibly and safely. The resources would be designed to be useful across different types of businesses and industries, rather than being tailored to only large companies with dedicated AI experts.
