What this bill does
In plain words · AI-written from the official summaryKeeps SNAP benefits flowing without interruption
This bill makes sure the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), which helps people buy groceries, keeps paying out benefits even if Congress hasn't yet passed the regular budget for the Department of Agriculture for 2026. It also covers any SNAP payments that were missed between late September 2025 and when this bill becomes law, so people get the money they should have received.
How it affects you
If you receive SNAP benefits, this bill means you won't lose access to your assistance while the government waits for Congress to finalize the next year's budget. You'll also get any payments that were delayed during the gap in funding.
