This Act may cited as the NOAA Data Preservation Act.

(a) In general The Secretary of Commerce may not cancel a contract with a cloud service provider for the storage of a data set of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration unless the Secretary satisfies the conditions described in subsection (b). (b) Conditions described The conditions described in this subsection are the following: (1) Development of a plan for the uninterrupted storage of the data set described in subsection (a) that includes transition to a cloud service provider other than a cloud service provider referred to in such subsection of such data set, and any associated reporting systems. (2) Collaboration with the Administrator of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to ensure the uninterrupted protection of such data set.
