What this bill does
In plain words · AI-written from the official summarySBA training to boost veteran-owned contractor awards
The Small Business Administration (SBA) has a goal to help federal agencies award at least 3% of their contracts to small businesses owned by service-disabled veterans. This bill says that when an agency falls short of that goal, the SBA must provide training to that agency's employees on how to increase such awards. Each year, the SBA reports which agencies missed the goal and how many trainings were given.
How it affects you
Service-disabled veterans who own small businesses could see more opportunities to win federal contracts, since agencies will get more focused help reaching that 3% target. Federal employees at agencies that underperform will be the ones receiving the training. This is a behind-the-scenes change with no direct effect on most other people.

Service-Disabled Veteran Opportunities in Small Business Act
This bill requires the Small Business Administration (SBA) to provide employees at any federal agency that has not met the goal of awarding at least 3% of its prime contracts and subcontracts to small businesses owned by service-disabled veterans with training to increase the number of such contracts awarded.
For each fiscal year, the SBA must report a list of each agency that did not meet the contracting goal and the number of trainings the SBA provided.
