What this bill does

In plain words · AI-written from the official summary

Online sellers must disclose product origins

This bill would require people selling imported products online to clearly show where those products come from and where the seller's main business is located. It doesn't apply to certain items like agricultural products, food, drugs, or used goods. The Federal Trade Commission would have the power to punish sellers who don't follow this rule.

How it affects you

If you shop online for imported products, you'd see clearer information about where items are made and who's selling them to you. Online sellers of imported goods would need to make these disclosures visible to customers, though sellers of used items, food, drugs, and agricultural products would be exempt from this requirement.
