What this bill does
In plain words · AI-written from the official summaryPushes to finish the Continental Divide Trail
This bill asks the Department of Agriculture and Department of the Interior to complete the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail within 10 years. The two agencies would work together with a special trail team to finish the job and improve the trail. They'd also create a detailed plan for the trail's development and partner with volunteer and nonprofit groups to help complete and manage it.
How it affects you
If you're a hiker or outdoor enthusiast, this could mean a more finished, better-maintained scenic trail for recreation. Most everyday Americans won't be directly affected, since this focuses on developing a specific long-distance hiking route rather than changing laws or services that touch most people's daily lives.
