What this bill does
In plain words · AI-written from the official summaryFederal buildings to be sold off by government
The bill requires the General Services Administration, which manages federal property, to sell six specific federal buildings in Washington, D.C. that currently house different government agencies. The agencies working in these buildings would have 18 months to move to other federal buildings, and the GSA would then have two years to sell the empty buildings to the highest bidder at fair market value. Foreign buyers would be blocked from purchasing any of these buildings.
How it affects you
If you work for one of the affected federal agencies, you'd need to relocate to a different federal building within a year and a half. For most people, this change happens behind the scenes in how the government manages its real estate and finances. The summary doesn't detail what happens to the money from selling these buildings or how it might affect taxpayers more broadly.
