What this bill does

In plain words · AI-written from the official summary

Funds Congress and legislative operations

This bill sets aside money for the Senate and various shared congressional offices and agencies for the year 2026. It covers things like the Capitol Police, the Congressional Budget Office, the Library of Congress, and several committees and services that support lawmakers. The bill also includes rules about how these funds can and cannot be used.

How it affects you

This bill doesn't directly change anything in your daily life. It's mostly about keeping Congress and its support systems running—paying staff, maintaining the Capitol building, and funding services like the Library of Congress that do research for lawmakers. The rules in the bill are primarily for how Congress spends taxpayer money on its own operations.
