This Act may be cited as the Safeguarding Personal Information Act of 2025.
SEC. 2. REPEAL OF CERTAIN REQUIREMENTS FOR DOCUMENTS ACCEPTED FOR FEDERAL IDENTIFICATION PURPOSESTrack this section →
Title II of the REAL ID Act of 2005 (49 U.S.C. 30301 note; division B of Public Law 109–13) is repealed.
SEC. 3. CONFORMING AMENDMENTSTrack this section →
(a) Benefits for Afghanistan nationals Section 2502(b)(3) of the Afghanistan Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2022 (8 U.S.C. 1101 note) is amended by striking under section 202 of the REAL ID Act of 2005 (division B of Public Law 109–13; 49 U.S.C. 30301 note), notwithstanding subsection (c)(2)(B) of such Act. (b) Grants to States Section 475(5)(I) of the Social Security Act(42 U.S.C. 675(5)(I)) is amended by striking in accordance with the requirements of section 202 of the REAL ID Act of 2005.
