What this bill does

In plain words · AI-written from the official summary

Requires terrorism incident reports to Congress

After a domestic or international terrorist act occurs in the United States, this bill requires the Department of Homeland Security, Department of Justice, FBI, and National Counterterrorism Center to write a report for Congress within one year of completing their investigation. The report must include details about what happened and recommendations for preventing similar attacks in the future. Information that could interfere with an active investigation or court case can be left out. This reporting requirement lasts for five years after the law takes effect.

How it affects you

This bill doesn't directly change daily life for most people, but it does ensure that Congress and the public get transparent information about how major terrorist incidents happen and what officials learned from them. The reporting requirement helps Congress and security agencies work toward preventing future attacks.
