In this Act, the term catalytic converter means any of the following: (1) Any device installed in the exhaust system of an internal combustion engine that utilizes catalytic action to oxidize hydrocarbon (HC) and carbon monoxide (CO) emissions to carbon dioxide (CO 2) and water (H 2 O). (2) A diesel oxidation catalyst. (3) A diesel particulate filter.
