(a) Establishment The Secretary shall establish a Bureau of Arms Control and Nonproliferation, which shall perform such functions related to verification and compliance with international arms control, nonproliferation, disarmament agreements or commitments, and other related international security policy issues, as the Under Secretary for International Security Affairs may prescribe. (b) Assistant secretary The Assistant Secretary for Arms Control and Nonproliferation shall be the head of the Bureau of Arms Control and Nonproliferation.
