What this bill does
In plain words · AI-written from the official summaryRequires periodic review of electrical supply chain
The Department of Energy would have to regularly study and report to Congress about the supply chain that keeps America's electricity system running. These reports would look at what components are needed, where problems or weak spots exist, and what policies might be holding back growth in this area. The department would also give Congress recommendations on how to strengthen and expand the supply chain.
How it affects you
This bill doesn't directly change anything in your daily life, but it could affect long-term energy policy. The reports would help lawmakers understand if there are problems getting the materials and equipment needed for electricity generation and transmission, which could eventually influence decisions about energy infrastructure and investment.

Electric Supply Chain Act

Specifically, DOE must periodically assess and report on

• emerging issues in the supply chain; and
• recommendations to address these emerging issues and to secure and expand the supply chain.
The initial report must be submitted no later than one year after the date of enactment of this bill.
