What this bill does
In plain words · AI-written from the official summaryAdds protections for election workers
This bill makes it a federal crime to intimidate, threaten, coerce, or harass someone who works elections, if the goal is to interfere with their job or punish them for it. It also protects the personal information of election workers, officials, and poll observers by making it illegal to publicly share their details in connection with federal elections. The bill lets election officials remove observers who are disrupting an election, and it provides funding for states to recruit and train poll workers, improve security at polling places, and monitor threats on social media.
How it affects you
If you work elections or volunteer at polling places, this bill offers you legal protection against intimidation and threats, plus better security measures and training support. If you're a regular voter, this doesn't directly change how you vote, but it's designed to help election workers do their jobs without fear or interference.
