Except as otherwise provided, in this division— (1) the term appropriate congressional committees means— (A) the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives; and (B) the Committee on Foreign Relations of the Senate; (2) the term Department means the Department of State; (3) the term Deputy Secretary means the Deputy Secretary of State; and (4) the term Secretary means the Secretary of State.
